I thought I would put update videos of Teag's mobility. His "crawling" is hilarious, I constantly cracking up as he tries to move around. Zac thinks that he'll eventually get a rug burn and learn to use his arms.

I don't know if you remember the video I put up like 2 weeks ago of me helping him pull himself up, but now he pulls himself up without help and walks around on the furniture! I can't believe he changes so much in such a short amount of time. It is so fun though!

We later learned that when it is sunny early in the morning it is a sign that the beach will be overcast...who knew, apparently it has to do with pressure systems. All I know is that I'm checking the weather report next time!

They are starting earlier and earlier...

Be honest, did you ever practice your kissing on the mirror? I totally did. Me and Whitney would put on bright red lipstick and try to make the "perfect" kiss mark on the mirror...Teagan likes his kisses a little more slimy...

We have started giving Teagan baths in our kitchen sink for a few reasons:

1. It forces me to scrub out my sink every single day before he gets in.
2. I don't have to bend over
3. Doesn't he look cute covered in kitchen sudsy soap?

I know I post a rediculous amount, but I can't help myself.

Sigh of relief...

So I hate to talk about money, but I just have to share this story because it is such a relief and such a special experience for us! So my dad handed down a piece of land to each of his children for Christmas 2 years ago which is completely amazing. We are excited to have an investment, and feel so lucky. But then a few weeks ago we got the bill for the taxes in the mail...About $1200! I know for some of you that is pocket change, but we about died when we saw it. We weren't really sure how we were going to pay for it and we have just been praying that something would work out.

Well today I got an email from a friend who asked what I was going to do with my PERSI retirement money from our job at Skyline. I remember filling out a PERSI form when I got hired, but I honestly didn't really think it would do much. I didn't even know that this money existed and I remembered getting a letter a couple days ago from PERSI and I never got around to opening it. I searched for it, found it, opened it and after reading through the information and calling the company I realized that having a job with benefits occasionally pays off. After the tax they take out for taking it early guess how much we get....$1200. I had to call Zac immediately and tell him.

I thought when I was praying for help with money... How is God going to help us come up with an extra $1200? He can help me get new tutoring jobs or maybe find $20 in a pair of old jeans, but $1200 normally doesn't just show up, but I knew that I just had to try really hard to have faith. It is just amazing to me how every tiny detail of my life works out when I involve my Heavenly Father. My testimony of tithing and prayer grew today.

WEekend with Grandma Packer!

My mom came and spent the weekend with us and we had a lot of fun! It was nice to actually get out and do something and have a familiar face around.

Saturday was really fun, we went down to La Jolla and got in touch with our wildlife side. There is a beach called "Children's Place" that was built in the 1930's for little kids to play. They built this big wall sothat the waves weren't so big and then the sea lions took over!!! They decided they liked having the wind blocked too. Now the whole beach is covered in poop and sea lions. It was fun to sea the sea lions up close, but I think that they should get shipped out so that the kids can have it again! All the stinking tree hugging animal rights people won't have any of that though.

You know, if they were beautiful animals I'd feel a little differently about the situation...but look at them. These pictures are taken from the wall that they built around the little sandy area. So this shot is looking back at the street from the wall. Look at all that seagull poo!
If you click on this picture you can see one of Teagan's top teeth, they are finally in!!!! Thank goodness! I think this is the begining of his "cheeser" smile. He has had so much fun with his grandma!

After the sea lions we walked over to a contemporary art museum. 25 and younger get in free and they let my mom in free since they were closing soon. YAHHHHOOOOO! Do you know what contemporary art is? It is a little weird. They take a piece of canvas randomly sew on 7 cool buttons and it goes up in a museum...really. They had a few cool pieces, but a lot of them seemed like pornography and others didn't seem like art. I guess I'm just not up with the times with art. All in all, it was a nice thing to do to become more cultured, but I'm not a fan of this kind of art I've decided...

This statue was out in front of the museum, I swear when I saw him I knew we were practically identical! This was one of the exibits that I liked. It is a car made out of this wooden stuff. The room is all windows that face the beach...it was really cool. The lighting is pretty bad in the pic so it's hard to see though. After this picture the workers started following us around to make sure that we didn't take pictures or feed Teagan any more cheerios. I think they were glad when we left.

It cooled off a little this weekend so we broke out the long sleeves and pants. I got this shirt for like $1.50 and I was extremely excited about it! The best thing about my mom coming is that she helped us discover a trick. Since Teagan is so into feeding himself, (ripping the spoon from our hands and getting rice cereal all over his face), my mom suggested giving him one spoon in each hand. It works great! He can't grab if he's already holding onto something! We'll see how long it lasts

6 random things...tag

I think that I post often enough that everyone knows everything about my current life so I will gear this tag towards my past and help you understand how I became the person I am today. :) enjoy.

1. When I was little I was cross-eyed and had 3 open-eye surgeries to correct it. I also had these mini coke bottle glasses since I was 6 months old. I even had to wear patches. My favorite thing was that the patches came with little stickers that you can put on the patch while you're wearing it. The doctors say it is fixed, but when I'm tired my eyes still wander...sorta creepy.

2. I was really adventurous when I was little. My mom's family owned the "fun-farm" in St. Anthony, Idaho and at one reunion all the big kids were jumping off of the bridge that goes over the Snake River. I was 3 years old and I asked my mom if I could jump off, she said okay and waited in the river to help me back to shore. After I jumped into the water and my mom got me I said "I don't think I want to do that again," and I never did.

3. I'm not a huge animal lover, but when I had my first and only pet, "X" the cat, I loved it! He always sat on the outside windowsill of the kitchen just over the hot tub. One day it was open and a bird was hovering over it and X jumped got the bird and they both fell in the hot tub. If I remember correctly, Julie nursed the bird back to health. Eventually the cat ran away to the neighbors house and wouldn't come back. I haven't been fond of animals since.

4. I used to play "house" when I was a little girl I with a friend named Lyndsey Clawson. We really got into the details. For example, I would often be found with a baby's head up my shirt feeding them, and Lyndsey always wanted to be pregnant and give birth. She made me be her doctor which always made me extremely uncomfortable. I didn't like her pretending to be in all that pain so I would just grab the baby under her shirt and hand it to her. I'm glad real doctors aren't like that. This is how I became a good mom.

5. I used to play "school" with Julie and Whitney. Julie always wanted to be the teacher and I liked being the student and I don't think Whitney was old enough to care so it all worked out. She would assign homework and grade it and teach us new things, this is how I became a good student. Thank you Julie for lessons in the fundamentals.

6. This is not about my past, but it is a funny story anyways. When I was in Labor we found out Teagan was breech and since my water broke on its own we had to do a c-section. I told my doctor "you better not cut his head," we joked around with our doctor a lot. When he was doing the c-section he was all "oops," and we said "what?" "I accidentally cut his head... just kidding." We all laughed and moved on. I know most of you don't think it's funny, but I loved him as a doctor. He was really jovial and just made things not so stressful. If you live in Rexburg go to Dr. Meredith at Targhee Women's Clinic, he is the best...but his hands are kinda big-watch out!

I don't know who to tag because it seems like everyone's done this tag. I'll tag Heidi, Brenda, Sara, Erin/Jared, Elise, and Alicia and anyone else who hasn't done it yet.

Here are the Rules Once Tagged:
1) Link to the person who tagged you.
2) Post the rules on your blog (copy and paste 1-6).
3) Write 6 random things about yourself (see below).
4) Tag 6 people at the end of your post.
5) Let them know they are tagged and leave a comment on their blog.
6) Let the tagger (who tagged you) know when your post is up

And that's why you ALWAYS buckle in your kids.

There are only a few times in life when it is good to hear a baby cry. For example, when you've just been through hours of labor and the baby finally arrives, your heart stops until you hear that sweet little cry.

I experienced another time when you'd like to hear that cry this afternoon. I went grocery shopping, and it was great. Teagan loved riding in the cart shaped like a car and he was worn out and almost instantly fell asleep when I put him in the car. I accidentally forgot to do up his seatbelt that holds in the car seat. The base got lost in the move and I'm totally depressed about it. On the way home I had to take a pretty tight/fast U-turn and I heard a big tumble in the backseat. I looked back and Teagan's carseat was facedown on the other side of the car on a pile of blankets. If I could have heard him crying I wouldn't have freaked out so bad, but I couldn't hear anything so I was sure he was going to suffocate. I flipped on the hazards slammed on my breaks and jumped into the back seat in a matter of about 3 seconds. When I turned over his carseat he looked up at me, smiled, giggled and pretty much went back to sleep before I got him seatbelted in. I'm glad he was fine, but man it freaked me out to see his carseat like that. After I got back on the road and my heartbeat slowed, I had to laugh at his response compared to mine. Maybe babies have too much trust. Hopefully from now on I will always check twice that my little precious bundle is seatbelted in, that was a serious reality check for me.

And that is why you always buckle in your kids.

An Adventurous group...not really

I thought I would post of video of Teagan's progression towards moving around. The last week he has really been pulling himself up. We give him a finger to grab and he does all the work. He LOVES holding himself up and getting around our footstool. It is so amazing to watch him learn new things every day. Can you imagine trying to learn to walk???

We went to our first ward Luau and LOVED it. It was at this AMAZING house up in the hills that was probably the nicest house I've ever seen. He had over 3 acres of land at the top of this hill. They even had a frisbee golf course and a big 20'' waterfall that went into the pool area. The people were so fun too. We met some other couples with little kids and we are excited to get to know them better. We went to one couple's house afterward and watched the latest Brian Regan comedy show, it was SO funny! This little girl with Teagan is 9 months old and is WALKING and has been for a month already. Her name is London and she is SO cute.Dad getting big and buff before the pool party. With all the food Teagan's been eating he makes a good weight!Feeding Teagan is getting rediculous. I give him a spoonfull and he sticks his hand in his mouth to make sure it gets in okay, and then he ends up like this. Luckily I can just throw him in the bath when we're done!

Whats it like to be really really rediculously good looking?

Last night Zac had to more dressed up for school because there was a guest speaker. I made him pose for some pictures because he looked so hott! He, of course, didn't object to our little photo shoot.

I'm so lucky!

Interested in Education?

This is my new project:I decided that if I want to really have a lot of students to tutor I need to make more of an effort to find people. I called up my AWESOME mom last night and she helped me design a flier...okay, she did the entire thing. Isn't it amazing??? You should call her and hire her to make you one! I'm taking them around to some different schools in the area. I think I'll put them in a couple grocercy stores, wal-mart, and Target if the managers will let me. I already took Teagan on a walk this morning and we put some up on a couple of community mail boxes in the area. Hopefully my phone starts ringing!

I also thought I should do a Zac update since it seems me and Teagan get all the blog attention. He started school last Wednesday and he is doing awesome already. He is taking Anatomy, Physiology, Skills and Procedures, Research, Critical Thinking, and Massage...I hate massage (I'll talk about that later). He has class until early afternoon and he stays and studies until they kick him out of the library. Last night he worked at the white board making sense out of his teacher's anatomy lecture (aparently the teacher goes really fast and skips around). It looked pretty intense so I had to get a picture. I'm so proud of my smarty pants hubby! Now for massage class. I like the idea that I will be his practice person for at home, but what I don't like is the in class experience. They practice massaging each other. Yesterday they had to take off their shirts for it. Sweet ole Zac chose a boy partner because he knows me and my challenges with jealousy too well, but then the teacher made them switch. I just hate the idea of Zac massaging another girl without her shirt on and vice versa. I know I just have to get over it, because it won't be over with this class, he'll be massaging people for the rest of his career. I guess I can be okay with it, I just don't have to like it. :) Zac explained to me that it is strictly clinical practice, no emotions whatsoever go into it. I trust him.

I realized that I never posted any pics of our apartment. These are a couple that I already had on my camera, when I clean the bedrooms and bathroom I'll show pics of those too so everyone can see where we are livin.

Swap meet and party time...

Our weekend was super full and fun which was really nice, especially for keeping Teagan busy. His darn tooth is like halfway in and he is sadder than ever! Anyways, no complaining today. So Saturday morning we decided to go to a swap meet they have down the street. I thought I walked into Tijuana. Everyone was selling fake purses and sunglasses and telling us they were brand name...pretty funny. We were the only white people we saw for the hour and a half that we were there. Now I'm not racist, this really didn't bother me. I just think it is so funny how people who have lived here a while know what the swap meets like so they won't go because they're too good or something, and then clueless Zac and I walk along. I loved it though and I think we'll go back periodically just for the experience. My favorite was when one woman walked up to us and started baby talking to Teagan and then reached out for him. She was super funny. I usually don't let strangers just hold Teag, but she acted like it was perfectly normal. Needless to say she gave us a deal on red peppers (2 for a dollar!). woohoo!

We almost bought this cowboy hat for Teagan, but Zac couldn't get the lady to go lower than $5 so we gave up.

We just had a garage sale and lots of people who came just wanted to buy tools...now I know why. You can resale them in bulk at swap meets!!! This booth had SO many tools it was almost hilarious!

Here is the watermelon we got at the swap meet for $3, I super excited to get a deal!

After the swap meet we went to a party with all of Zac's classmates. Six of the 44 kids in his group live together in a house so they had a get to know everyone bbq. I had a lot of fun getting to know some of his classmates and their spouses. Zac is the only one with a kid, we are one of just a few married couples, and we are the only mormons--this will be a very new experience for us, but it's kind of exciting. Teagan just ate (and loved) his watermelon while we talked.

Teagan's fav song these days is popcorn popping (with actions). Just in the last couple day it seems like he's trying to do the popping action with me. Sometimes he's just waving his arms out excitement, but then he concentrates and moves his hands slowly-so cute. Sorry about my horrible singing!

Yahoo!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry about me being blog happy, but I am currently thrilled (almost more excited than when I was doing Calculus). Over the 8 months of Teagan's life we have always relied on avent for our bottling needs. When it came to buy the next size of nipples I was extremely frustrated. They sell bottles in packages of 3 and nipples in packages of 2. This was extremely irritating becuase I don't want just 2, but I also don't want an extra nipple. Oh the choices.

Well, today I'd finally had it, I'd washed my last bottle. So I looked up Avents customer service number to complain. The lady I talked to was grumpy and after I told her my story she was like "I'll file a request with the marketing department." I knew that would do absolutely nothing, and I wanted something out of this, so I tried a different route. Our conversation:

Me: have you ever seen Father of the Bride?

Her:Yes (chuckle)

Me: You know the part where he is buying the hotdogs and buns and he can't math them up.

Her: yes (through her laughter)

Me: That's what I feel like doing every time I'm buying nipples, I feel like I need to just rip the packages open so I don't have extra nipples laying around.

Her: What kind of bottle do you use, I'm sending you one as a courtesy.

Me: Really? Thank you so much....blah blah blah.

Can you believe it? I was ecstatic! A free bottle and I made the grumpy lady laugh. I guess it's all in a day's work.

Stud Muffin

I think popped collars are so rediculous, but when I put Teag's shirt on this morning it popped on its own. So I couldn't resist adding the mohawk. And I have to admit I think he looks like a stud. If anyone can pull off the popped collar it's Teagan!

He's been wanting to stand up constantly lately. He'll hold on to both my hands and then when he balences himself he lets go of one and tries to get where he's going. He is pretty good at holding himself up on furniture which is a little scary. I probably shouldn't encourage him, but it's so fun to watch your baby become smarter and stronger. He is wonderful!

We went to the beach on Tuesday (the last day of vacation for Zac) on the way home from my mom's house and it was pretty fun. I tried to build a castle, but it kept collapsing so I turned it into a dog/dinosaur/bear, and Teagan helped by eating the sand when I wasn't looking. Zac got a nice tan and took pictures since his hands were clean. It was a very fun day and it only cost $1(parking).

Quirks

The RULES
1. Link the person who tagged you
2. Post these rules.
3. Tell about 6 unspectacular quirks of yours.
4. Tag 6 fellow bloggers by linking them

1. You all already know this one, but I get completely giddy when I do math problems, it's almost an addiction.

2. I used to say "feld" as in "Last weekend at church I feld my arms." You know like hold and held...fold and feld. I think it was Kim or Erin who finally broke the news to me that feld isn't a word, a truly disappointing day, I really liked that word.

3. I didn't think this was "quirky," but Zac thinks it is. When I am drying off from the shower I always follow the same pattern every time. Face, Left arm, tummy, right arm, (squeeze out the hair), Left and right legs, (squeeze out hair again) and back. This way I don't dry off my back for no reason. Squeezing out the hair is very important in this pattern because then I never have to dry the same place twice.

PS: I follow the same pattern when I'm washing my body.

4. I like to rip up paper. Especially when I'm talking on the phone. I'll take an 8 1/2 by 11 piece of paper and rip in half as many times as a can until the pieces are too small, then I like to arange the pieces in patterns.

5. I saw Julie and Jeff do the "shoulder shrug" dance and it stuck. I can't dance without moving my shoulders, alternating, up and down to the beat of the music. I look rediculous, but it makes dancing so much more fun...and sexy! I'll have to post a video.

6. Scardy cat, Scardy cat-everything scares me! We'll be driving on the freeway and I'll see brakelights 10 cars ahead and I grab Zac's arm and the door and gasp. We'll watch those Verizon "scary" commercials and I always want to change the channel cause they actually scare me. Law and Order gave me nightmares (I use the word "gave" because we don't watch that show anymore.) We went camping and I couldn't sleep all night because I thought bears were walking around the camp ground and touching our tent. Turns out the wind was just making some flaps on the outside of the tent blow. Zac doesn't like this quirk because it keeps him up a lot at night and stresses him out on the road.

I tag Angalee, Heidi, Sara, Michelle, Sheena, and Mickie
