Brag on your Man

I asked Teagan what he thought of his daddy, he thought for a minute...

....and then told me his dad is really awesome.

Zac just finished another semester so he gets to enjoy being a 26 year old guy for a few weeks. When TEagan's awake we go and play together while he sleeps Zac catches up on video game time while I blog, then I tutor in the afternoons while Zac and Teagan play some more.

It is SOOOOO nice to have Zac at home, we miss him so much during the semesters, we are going to enjoy the next two weeks to the fullest! We're going to Las Vegas with Zac's family next week and we're excited for a real vacation!

I have to brag about Zac for a minute, he is amazing. I am so proud of him. He just finished his second semester of Physical Therapy School. He is in a 7 semester Docorate program that is really intense.

This semester he was taking 22 credits and he manged to get straight A's! He is one of 2 people in his class with children and one of about 7 married people out of the 50 students, yet he sets the high or at least close to the high on pretty much every test. He is so humble about it and he'll never tell anyone his scores, but I just can't keep it in. He is studies and goes to school all day, comes home around 7 and spends an hour or two with me and Teagan and then hits the books again til he goes to bed. Then he gets up early and studies while he works out, and then goes to school again. He works so hard and he rarely complains. He deserves recognition for being so awesome!

He's got a 4.0 so far and I'm sure he'll be able to keep up the good work...I love you ZAC!

What am I supposed to feed this kid???

So my fantastic eater has disappeared and a picky boy has come. He doesn't even like potatoes.

Teagan likes Any and all fruits, PB&J, hotdogs, eggs and toast, carrots, yogurt, crackers, cheese and that's about it.

He won't eat anything I make for dinner and if he does it will be like 2 bites and be done. I just am worried that he's not eating enough. He will eat tons of fruit, but I want him to eat something hearty that will actually make him gain weight.

Any ideas? What do you feed your picky toddler, please give me some ideas.

I love weekends

This weekend was fantastic, especially considering that Zac has finals next week! Saturday while Zac was being studious me and Teagan went to the pool with some of our neighbors. We went with my friend Megan and her little girl Kylie (no pics!!! dang) and also our other teenage neighbors Alexis and Yesenia.

Teagan has been working out for swimsuit season, I think he's really bulked up!

The pool isn't heated so it was still way cold even though it's soo hot outside so we stuck to the steps. He watched Alexis splash and thought it was hilarious. I have to admit that I still haven't gotten over how cute he looks in his spiderman outfit.

Another reason I love weekends: I have an excuse to play dress up with my little doll. It's fun to dress up Teagan too!

Cruisin' Grand

Every Friday night from April to September our city has a *free* event called Cruisin' Grand. They line up old cars along Grand avenue in old town Escondido. It reminds me of down town Idaho Falls. We went for the first time tonight and had a lot of fun. Mostly because we were out of the house enjoying ourselves.
There were probably a couple hundred different classic cars, trucks, and motorcycles all restored and awesome! It's always fun to check out sweet cars. i really like all the tiny cars, they made me feel big.
I know what your thinking, "wow, what a pretty smile." I was trying to stand tall to make the car look small and I forgot to pose my face. :)

We took this picture for Sheena because it is HOT pink. Who would have thought that there would be a sweet pink car with pink panther pillows inside?

As it started getting darker we started getting distracted from the cars by all the strange things around us. Lets just say that Escondido, CA is no Rexburg, Idaho. There are just a lot of crazy people, I don't know how to say that in a nice way. There was a huge group of teenagers dressed up in gothic 60's outfits and make-up and some street singers that had interesting talent ;). I really wanted to ask for a picture, but I wasn't brave enough to ask. If you're ever in the area on a Friday night you should stop by, you won't be bored!

My favorite thing was walking by a huge call center. As we walked by we noticed that they have a "no solicitors" sign on their front door. Isn't it ironic, don't ya think? Zac and I had a good little laugh over that one.

Love this Boy

I love this little boy. Tonight he didn't want to go to sleep and he was talking and just being silly. I went in there and he told me he was hungry...of course. So I bring in a piece of bread and his milk and he was SO hyper. I was giving him a piece of bread and he bit my finger and laughed about it for about 20 seconds straight...It was SO hard to keep a straight face. He kept trying to jump and turn around. Sometimes I get a little silly when I'm too tired, maybe he got that from me. :) He is seriously my little ball full of energy and laughs. I sure love my little boy!

The extemely Controversial Vaccine Debate

So my good friend Megan has this great website where she is the "San Diego Stay at Home Examiner." She writes about anything a Stay home mom would be interested in.

I love reading it because sometimes she writes about controversial topics and I like reading all the nasty comments people say to each other...hehe

The latest posts have been about the debate on whether to get your children vaccinated. You should check it out if you want to see what people are saying here.

I really don't know a TON about it. I know that some say there might be a link to autism, but i think there is also a link to not contracting deadly illnesses too.

In my humble opinion I'd rather take the 99% chance of Teagan not contracting all the different harmful sicknesses that vaccines prevent and take the 1% chance of getting autism. That statement is sure to make the hair on some peoples back stick up!

I do wonder about the different schedules, I know some of you do that and i was wondering what the reasons are.

Music Road

We went up to my mom's for a fantastic Easter weekend. On Saturday we went out to Lancaster to check out the amazing Civic Music Road. We had seen the Honda commercial a few times so we were excited to try the road out in person. We did a U turn and tried it about 4 times in a row at different speeds. It is was pretty cool!

The best Diet EVER!

So I've decided to start a new diet. I lost about 10 pounds training for a 5K and I've gained half of it back so I came up with a new plan.

The Plan: I am only allowed to eat sweets (in any form) if I do an intense workout for at least 30 minutes that day. Intense workouts include running, tae bo, swimming, 1 hr walk, kickball with neighbors (they make me play all outfield positions, it IS a workout!).

Today was my first day. I did 45 minutes of Taebo and ate 4 cupcakes...I'm off to a great start. I probably burned 350 calories and ate 1500...fantastic.

I am optimistic about the future. I'm going to try to limit it to one sweet, but I really like sweets so I don't know if I can have the self control.

The Foods We Love

Hey all,

I started a new blog to keep up on my new hobby of food. I love cooking and I always want to write about what and how I cook, but I didn't want to clutter my family blog with all that junk so I made a new one. Check it out....

I think I feel a tradition coming on...

Today was so busy and so fun. We started off with me tutoring while Zac and Teagan went to play at the mall. They came and got me and we went back to spend my birthday money. I didn't get anything there (I ended up getting new pyrex baking dishes...SO excited!) but we had a lot of fun window shopping.

We returned home for TEag's nap which only lasted 30 min...dirty diaper (3rd one today...are you kidding me???) so we took off again. We went to once upon a child and got some clothes for TEagan. I was really excited to find very new looking-brand name stuff for SOOOO cheap.

Then we went to the beach again later that afternoon. I was excited that is was cool and breezy so that I could try TEagan's new outfit out on him (all for $6). We just walked on the board walk (I don't know if that's actually what it's called) in Carlsbad and watched the squirrels. It was so nice. I think we'll probably start going every Saturday. Here are the pictures to prove it. :)
He liked to pick flowers and rip off the petals...
This isn't the most flattering but I had to note the difference in skin color between Zac and I. He is about 10 shades darker than me. I don't understand becasue he literally spends ALL day inside, while I spend at least an hour or two outside almost everyday with Teagan. Yet, I'm still albino...I wonder if I'm a vampire...probably.

I go to the bathroom for one minute and.....

Teagan:
Oh no, She caught me with the cookies

The suspense is killing me, is she going to let me keep eating these cookies?!?!

She let me keep eating...YESSSSS....

I love cookies
