Halloween

We had a great Halloween this year.  This first picture was from the corn maze, Everly really loved riding the barrel train with Zac because he makes everything so fun.  She dressed up as a lady bug for ward trunk or treat and then Grandma Packer brought us the adorable lamb costume that aunt Julie sewed for Kate about 10 years ago.  It is literally the cutest little costume ever.  She will probably be a lamb next year too!

The Daniels Family came over for dinner and trunk or treat the Saturday before Halloween to celebrate Shelly's birthday.  It was so fun!  The kids all looked so cute in their costumes!  Teagan was the grimm reaper, Eloise was a witch, Adeline was Elsa, Everly was a lady bug, Taylin was a clown girl, Zoey was Harley Quinn, Quinn was super girl and Grayson was Batman.  Such a cute bunch of kids!

On Halloween we made our traditional trip to great grandma Packer's (and grandma packer) house.  She made chili that was delicious and they loaded the kids up with candy.  My mom bought some dry ice that was really cool and the kids loved it!

After our family vacation to San Diego we were all sugared out!  It was time for a break so we made a deal with the kids. If they could go until Halloween without eating any sugar, they would get to invite a friend to go to the famous Gravity Factory in Rexburg.  We were so impressed with all of them!  They each had super hard times, but they were strong and said no.  Teagan went to a birthday party and chose to eat a banana instead of cake, ice-cream and a bowl full of candy bars.  Eloise skipped out on cupcakes at school for a birthday and didn't even lick off the ring on top, she rinsed it in the sink.  She had a play date with Kya Phelps and they were making homemade cookies, she said no thank you.  All of them said no to treats at church during class and donuts at the primary program practice and cookies after the program.  That doesn't even include all the times they were offered candy at banks, stores, or from grandparents.  So many people told me that they were inspired by our three kiddos to be healthier and cut back on sweets.  There were a few slip ups so Teagan and Adeline didn't get to bring friends.  Teagan had candy during church on fast sunday and had some treats that people shared at lunch a couple times, but he confessed and we decided to show mercy because he had done so much good.  Adeline couldn't handle it at grandma and grandpa durtschi's house one night when they had cake and ice-cream, she decided to go all in and had 2 ½ pieces of cake and 2 servings of ice cream before we could stop her.  haha  So no friends for them.  It ended up being such a fun time!  Eloise brought Kya Phelps and all of us had so much fun.  We were all sore for a few days after, which was so awesome!  On the way out they all started asking when we were doing the next challenge so that we could go back.  Totally worth $140 right?  Maybe...I will admit we didn't check out the pricing before we made the deal.  We ended up buying a punch pass to save a little money so we have enough to go back 2 more times with just our family.  So I guess it was worth it.
