Coach Pitch Baseball

Teagan played baseball this summer and loved it.  I was so impressed with him.  He would watch that ball so close and hit it almost every single time (which is so foreign to me since I pretty much struck out every time at his age).  What really amazed me was how fast he would run the bases.  Teagan is fast!  Watching him play sports always makes me grateful that he inherited his dad's awesome athletic ability, it makes watching him a lot of fun!

He loved playing baseball and looked forward to every game.  He would get dressed way in advance and be pushing us all out the door.   It may have had something to do with the fact that the batting line up was in order of arrival.  He loves to play.

Now I don't know baseball, but I didn't think you were allowed to block the runner from getting on base.  He is running into his buddy Quinn and they both thought that this collision was pretty funny.

The little girls loved playing in the dirt and playing at the playground and eating snacks during the games.  Baseball really is so much fun in the summer!

After the games the kids always wanted to play at the park.  Fun fun, for everyone.
Go Teagan!  Can't wait to see what amazing thing you do next!

Father's Day 2015

Zac is the most amazing Father.  He loves and cares about our kids so much.  He prays for them, cries for them, laughs with them, plays with them.  He works so hard to provide for us and give us a wonderful life together.  You can tell he is amazing because the kids love him so much.  They light up when he enters a room and when they hear the garage door go up they all start cheering, "daddy's home!"  He is an incredible example and we are so blessed to call him ours!  Happy Father's Day!

Camping at Teton Canyon

We went on our first ever family camping trip.  It was just us and the wild and we did great!  We overpacked a ton, but learned some too.  Teagan loved the fire, Adeline loved the camp chairs, and Eloise loved the idea of sleeping in a sleeping bag in a tent, so much that she asked to go to bed early and went right to sleep.

We went on a hike friday night to see some beautiful water falls and another hike the next morning.

The kids climbed every boulder on the trail.

We found several strawberry plants along the path and even some actual strawberries.  That was so fun!  We gobbled them right up and they were super sweet.
Having to pack up the next day made us realize that a camper might be nice and that camping isn't worth it unless you go for at least 2 nights!  So much work!  The kids all loved it and I would do it again, just so that they could have fun.

Happy Home Evening

Bike rides to the snow shack by Broulims are a favorite family home evening around here.  We forgot a wallet and I only had enough cash in my pocket for one, so we shared an XL and Adeline hogged it.  Next time I think we each need our own so we'll have to remember to bring money.   No worries, we had a great time, regardless.

Robert and Erin's Wedding- Boise or Bust

We got to take a fun trip to Boise for my step-brother Robert's wedding to the wonderful Erin.  We had such a fun weekend.  The first day we went and enjoyed being in Boise!

We went to the discovery science museum.  They had a lot of really fun, interactive activities.  We all love science museums!

Teagan took Adeline shopping in the mini grocery store, she enjoyed eating all the food.  Eloise loved shopping too.

Eloise loved the spinning wheel and trying to throw bean bags in there while it was going.

After the museum we headed to a little park next door for some swinging and playing.  It was SOO hot!

We ended up going on a walk to find the big water fountain.  We were told that it was really close by. After walking for over an hour with some very exhausted kids we finally found it.  Zac ran back to the car and came to pick us up because we were all beat.

We spent Saturday doing fun wedding things.  The ceremony was perfect and we really enjoyed being with all the family.

We had lunch at a yummy pizza restaurant.  The kids were all mesmerized by the rodeo that was on TV.  They were getting really into the bucking bronco.

We did a little shopping in between.  Me and Eloise were dressed like twins.  Zac and grandpa Durtschi decided to buy new, fancy apple watches.

Eloise just LOVED the reception.  She was dancing and dancing and found a little friend that loved to dance as much as she did.

Fun times!

There weren't very many eligible young bachelors...well they were definitely young.

I know the picture is blurry, but I had to include it.  Teagan is a fighter!  He was not going to let someone else get it!

He won!  And he immediately gave it to Adeline, "here, you can have this headband."

We took Rachel with us on the way home and made a stop at a fun little campground near twin falls.

It was really hot so we dipped into the snake river.

Teagan loves to climb on top of steep, high rocks and stand next to the edge for a picture and give me a heart attack.

Overall, it was a really fun weekend.  We enjoyed spending time as a mini family and as an extended family.  Weddings are fun for bringing everyone together.

Happy First Birthday Adeline

Our sweet Adeline turned one on May 27.  She is such a sweet girl.  For her birthday we gave her the gift of not having a party.  She is definitely going through a stranger danger stage and doesn't really want anyone but mom and dad.  We figured that inviting all the family over would be hard for her so we let it just be our family.

She loved and devoured her birthday cake!

I made the cake look like her favorite thing ever, her special puppy.  I almost made it to look like me, but that might have been a step too far.  I thought I maybe deserved some recognition for being the ONLY person she will ever go to (it's not all it's cracked up to be).  :)

Pictures can never quite capture the messiness of a post-birthday face.  She had cake everywhere and ate and loved every crumb.

Adeline is so much happier now that she is mobile.  She loves to be held, especially by her momma.  She loves to play outside and especially loves to sit in and eat dirt.  She will follow Eloise and Teagan around all day long.  Adeline loves a fun activity and is happy to stay up late and be part of the party. We love you sweet Adeline!

Crawling

This sweet girl starting crawling last Sunday!   She is so adorable!  I was fixing Ellie's hair yesterday and Addy was in the living room.  I heard her giggling to herself so we came in to to see what was so funny, she was crawling down the hall to get to us and was very pleased with herself.

Good job Addy!  You figured it out, we are SO proud of you and your cuteness!
